Andrei Balan – Album release | Promoted by PIATRAONLINE

"Not every carved stone is sculpture, not every sound is music and not any line drawn on a piece of paper can be called drawing." The passion for misunderstood beauty of natural stone inspired us in this quest for the creative man expressing himself through the language of art. Sculpture is perhaps the oldest form of art and stone the oldest material used, yet not every stone block or piece of wood can become a sculpture if the artist fails to light up the shape hidden within the material. Today, art continues to look for new forms of delivering messages. Faithful to our promise, #generatinginspiration, we wish to bring these messages and their creators closer to everybody.

PIATRAONLINE promotes a new exhibition, album and sculpture release under the artistic brand "Andrei Balan", which will take place between November, 23^rd and December, 5^th at the ARCUB. Andrei Balan is a graduate of architecture and fine arts, strongly influenced by Master Sorin Dumitrescu, the work of Vasile Gorduz and the architecture of Byzantine space and proposes an exhibition in which he reconsiders the state of ecclesial space. His art is a replica, in her double meaning. An alternate response to current trends, on the other hand, resuming old, mysterious content that transforms them into a wonderful symbiosis between the new and the old.

Beyond carving stone or gypsum, he investigates different ways for conveying messages to us. Thus, his two passions, sculpture and music, Andrei Balan manages to create a new language, by fusiing these two types of composition. With this language he manages to convey a much stronger and clearer message. Another language that helped him to shape his works and reach specific shapes is none other than mathematics. The artist mentions it as language that connects art, especially through geometry – this modern branch, with its complexity applied to human anatomy can emphasize a much deeper message. In the end, sculpture is only a material message for transmitting some personal feeling about the world – why we are, who we are. The artist Andrei Balan is the one that, from his quest, is able to find meaning for the answers. And his works are those answers that make sense.

The exhibition was imagined as an opportunity for reavealing the mystery, as well as a string of complementary events. An event involving several forms of art, brought together for a language that allows a message to be conveyed much more clearly.

• Friday, November 30^th, 20:00 hrs: Concert "Torsan-Balan", with Andrei Balan, guitar and percussion, and Calin Torsan, blowing instruments;

• December 1^st, 20:00 hrs: Poetry Night "Words that unite us". Read by Theodor Dumbrava, Soundscape Andrei Balan;

• Thursday, December 4^th, 19:00 hrs: Conference "Witnesses and Martyrs", Andrei Gaitanaru, publicist and researcher Patristic studies;

• Friday, December 5^th, Time 19:00 hrs: Finish – Screenings by Dan Adrian Ionescu, Soundscape Andrei Balan

Forget about your project and listen to the thoughts of matter, as the great Brancusi was always saying. It might bring something new for you. We were also inspired by the great sculptor, so we wanted to have a replica of his work, which would always remind us of the stone's capacity to tell stories. PIATRAONLINE showroom displays one of Andrei Balan's works, "The Divided Fish" – a replica of Brancusi's "Fish", for you to admire.

We believe that good ideas are able to transform cities and this event brings an entire performance in front of visitors – from opening, exhibitions, evening poems, music and album releases. All this takes place at ARCUB as an artistic endeavor initiated and exhibited by sculptor Andrei Balan and promoted by PIATRAONLINE.
